History of Dốc Lết
Discover the beauty and history of Dốc Lết beach
1Formation & Origins
Dốc Lết is a beach located in Ninh Hải commune, Đông Ninh Hòa, Khánh Hòa province. With a coastline stretching over 7km, Dốc Lết is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in central Vietnam, renowned for its fine white sand, crystal-clear water, and fresh sea air.
2Geography
Dốc Lết lies on the eastern side of Đông Ninh Hòa, approximately 50km north of Nha Trang city. The beach curves gently in an arc, sheltered by rows of swaying coconut palms. The calm, shallow waters make it ideal for swimming and water sports.
3Culture & People
The local community has long relied on fishing and, increasingly, tourism for their livelihoods. The area is celebrated for its fresh seafood — shrimp, crab, fish, and shellfish. The annual Cầu Ngư (fishing boat) festival is a cherished tradition where the community gives thanks to the sea.
4Tourism & Development
In recent years, Dốc Lết has grown significantly as a tourist destination, with new resorts, guesthouses, and service providers emerging to meet demand. Despite this growth, the beach retains its unspoiled, peaceful character — a welcome retreat for visitors seeking rest and natural beauty.
